Introduction
The Department of History, L. S. College, Muzaffarpur, since its inception in 1899, has maintained a distinguished academic tradition comparable to leading institutions across the country. The department has excelled in both teaching and research and has been associated with eminent scholars and national figures such as Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Acharya J. B. Kripalani, Dr. Y. J. Taraporwala, Dr. Jyotirmoy Sen, Dr. H. R. Ghoshal, and Dr. Sitaram Singh. These scholars made significant contributions to historiography and the intellectual development of modern India.
