Introduction

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Langat Singh, Muzaffarpur was established in 2010. The students are working in various newspapers, magazines, radio stations, and television channels. They are also active in public relations and advertising fields. The Bachelor of Mass Communication program undertakes various projects to create awareness among students and the general public on social issues.

Currently, students are producing short films on the historic planetarium established during 1914–1916, which holds heritage value for the institution and society as one of the oldest planetariums in India. They are also working on a short film about the observatory that was functional in the early 20th century, which also has significant heritage value.

The department proudly notes that its graduates are serving in leading media houses such as Hindustan, Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar, and many others in roles like Editors, News Editors, Sub-Editors, and Correspondents. Many alumni are also working in television, radio channels, Indian Information Services, and State Government Public Relations Departments.
